Food Drive
Santa likes to have fun, but Santa also likes to spread joy and happiness to the less fortunate.
For the past two years, SantaCon has featured a food drive to benefit Just Food, the primary food bank for Douglas County. The mission of Just Food is to coordinate efforts of community pantries to share and provide food for hungry families. It also serves as an emergency food pantry for low-income customers who need assistance.
This year, we will continue to collect food donations for Just Food, but we are also collecting food and diapers for Ballard Community Services. Ballard has a goal of securing 100 bags of food before Christmas for local families, and they are always in need of diapers and baby wipes.
A donation box will be available at the first bar. If you can’t be there for the beginning of SantaCon, or if you can’t participate at all, you’re still encouraged to drop off a donation. Or money. Cash is always welcome at both agencies. Santa will collect the donations after SantaCon and deliver them to Just Food and Ballard.
